Finding sheet music for guitar is easier than it has ever been since the availability of the World Wide Web. Traditionally, people who wanted to learn how to play guitar were restricted to purchasing music books by a particular artist or multiple artists to get the sheet music for the songs they wanted to learn to play. Those days are gone! Sure you can still buy those books from local and online music stores, but you can probably find it for free or very inexpensively online. Most sites are set up so that you can search for works by the artists’ name or by the title of the piece, and if you’re not sure, you can listen to a snippet of a selection online first. This will make your search easier and you can get exactly what you want. All genres of music are available from classical, to country, rock, blues, jazz, and even conductors’ scores.
Sheet music for guitar is available for every level from beginner to advanced, including bass lines and tablature, which shows where the fingers should be placed on the guitar’s fret board. Knowing how to read music is not required to read tablature, which makes it easier to learn and to play. If you’re not sure what note you’re supposed to play, just take a look at the tablature to see where your fingers should be. It’s that easy! Most songs can also be broken down into smaller, more manageable pieces that are easier to learn, and when that part is mastered, you can move on to the next level until completing the entire piece.
