Ever since the Internet became a part and parcel of our lives, digital books have become a sort of industry standard. Nearly everyone uses digital books for various purposes. While some people use them as a replacement for the more conventional books, others use them as a portable medium, enabling them to do more. Digital books are also very convenient. Nearly every kind of digital media player, especially of the nature of the iPod and a wide variety of other players available in the market store and play digital books.
Speaking for myself, I use digital books for language learning. I find that it is not only convenient, but the wide array of resources available online make finding my digital books easy and affordable. While there are very few sites that still offer free digital books, a few manage to do so thanks to some really effective advertising and sponsorship. While not all the books can be neatly classified according to ones specific requirements and not all of them are complete by themselves, but more like a set, there are still enough free books out there to warrant a search and download operation.
Think of it this way. If you are an expert in your field and want to share your knowledge with others and have decided to go the digital books way in order to do so, you would surely expect some sort of remuneration for your efforts right? Which is why most experts compile a series or set of digital books and hold out a sample as a free download. This not only enables them to successfully promote their wares, but also providers users like you and me with a free sample that will be able to influence our purchase decision.
Be that as it may, there are enough and more free digital books out there for you to indulge in several hours of pure listening pleasure. While listening is surely easier than reading, you just might develop a taste for the written word after that! But the way in which things are going, the day may soon come when everyone uses only digital books and the conventional books as we know them are no longer a viable possibility. |
